The Husser Family is doing fine after going without electric power for 24 hours. Even though we didn’t have power, the gas was on so we could cook and we had hot water. We survived, but many of our neighbors just five miles to the South of Us were completely destroyed. The water came in so fast that many of the people had to run to higher ground or get out with just what they had on. People were coming to the Shelter with no shoes on and in shock. Joan and I are blessed because we didn’t get that destruction and in some cases, the lost of loved ones that took place just five miles south of our place.
The many trees that Sandy tore from their roots are spread all over the neighborhood making it very dangerous to move about. The water is so deep and folks don’t know what’s under it. Danger is everywhere! So, for those of You going out today, be very careful and don’t go anywhere you can’t see the ground with your eyes. Watch out for the live wires downed by the trees that were thrown about by the high winds. I’ve never seen anything like this before!
Let’s pray for those that have lost everything and loved ones. Prayer does work and if you know some Seniors in your area, go check them out to make sure their needs are met.
