Or The Next Civil War will be Blacks vs. Police

by Chris Stevenson

Police continue to fear and suspect blacks even though blacks devote much of their lives to the accumulation of powerlessness.

Demonstrations, Marches, even rioting and the occasional random shooting of cops-whether seemingly well planned or otherwise-do not deter the raw fear, adrenaline, and temptation a good number of white officers of the law feel toward shooting blacks out of a split-second jump-to-conclusions measure, to a ‘I’m so afraid I’ll get my ass whupped by a black that I’m shooting first now even though he’s down in a prone position’ incident. The recent shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile leave no room for alternate speculation. One wonders whats the answer to bring an end to this? There are two possible solutions, it’s in the President’s hands to push one, but he’s already demonstrated an unwillingness to perform it. The other is really the sole business of the black men in their respective communities. This is the ugly part.

What the police want is the unrealistic and unacceptable; the carte blanche ability to assassinate blacks-especially black men-at will. Preferably through some nice conservative legislation like that law in Louisiana “Blue Lives Matter.” This is some of the most braindead piece of shit measure possibly ever made in the history of mankind since Dred Scott. The most obvious rub is the source where they got the idea for the name from, #BlackLivesMatter. What these cops and their supporters did (as is often the case) is claim it is they who are the victims, not the blacks. So now in 2016 you have a law signed by Governor that expands the shooting of police officers-often the perpetrators of hate crimes-into a hate crime itself.

We’ve long known that police unions are run by grown children who only understand what they want. Just as children can cause a division so have they from way before any of you reading this was born. This is a major part of the reason that almost no matter what President Obama says in the aftermath of the Sterling, Castile and Dallas police shootings, if he ain’t sounding like Rudy Giuliani or Darryl Gates, then he must be against the police. Childish. A huge can of Grow the Fuck Up would be in order for many of them here, but there’s no bar I know of that sells it.

The root of the disconnect between white and black (and non-white) is caused solely by whites. This is the 800 lbs gorilla once you shave all the hair off. Many whites still look at blacks as if we just got off a spaceship last week, this is because at some point in this nation’s history (probably just after electronic media caught on) white Americans began considering themselves “regular” people. It’s up to honest scientists to determine when the last race to appear on the planet suddenly became regular since their world population is so small (and shrinking steadily). At any rate that’s why you see this revolving door of shows on race on the TV and cable networks that just have audience and guests pitted on two sides shouting, screaming and struggling to get their point across. It was never the intent of major media to make an army of whites look themselves in the mirror, this would conveniently solve the problem for blacks, why do that? Keep ’em guessing. Keep ’em fighting. Hence the drastic avoiding of Obama to just come out and say ‘this was started by police officers years ago,’ and the desperate struggle of whites on the right and even some on the left to avoid listening to it.

In some cases you don’t even have to be black or male. Three years ago Officer Daniel Harmon-Wright only got a three year sentence for shooting a white woman (ahem, Sunday School Teacher) Patricia Cook. Wright had issues that made him the wrong candidate for hiring in any occupation with a gun and badge, but this boys club did it anyway. Coincidentally he was released early exactly one month short of a year ago today. A few years ago I wrote in my column “Treason… or a Continuation Thereof” about the already present state of mind of some whites who apply for those law-enforcement positions: “Today however, an exorbitant amount of Joe-Six-Packs occupy these jobs. In short it’s safe to assume they wanted them just so they can instantly enforce their own personal biases and opinions, not the law.”

My solution then was for President Obama to send the Secret Service off to raid the donut and coffee shops. My sentiment is no different today, especially since Donald Trump replaced Mitt Romney as “The President of White Male America” things have gotten worse. What many suspect about Dallas to be a government hit or MK-Ukltra hit in order to start a race war and then use that war as an excuse to force blacks into internment camps, stands to be a gross failure as with similar attempts in the past because too many citizens black and white have simply too much common sense.

On the very subject of common sense the city of Dallas TX simply did not deserve to have their officers hit by random bullets regardless of who they came from. Many people have seen their black police commissioner on the air speaking in the wake of these tragedies, but few know how important this man is beyond being just another black face in high office. This wasn’t an easy task considering losing family members to violence-including his own son who was killed after shooting a cop-but when you reduce police abuses, often times the crime rate drops as well. The correlation being the officers left are forced to devote more time to public safety and fighting crime than pursuing their own private race or corruption agendas. Since his becoming Dallas Chief of Police in 2010 he fired over 70 officers involved in questionable incidents including a mentally ill man. Clearly this was a vastly improved department, the kind activist and journalists like myself clamor for. So if there’s more to the story of a lone Dallas cowboy named Micah Johnson, then it would be extremely important to know the identity of the one who ordered the shooting.

Great article!! I think it’s great that you don’t tip-toe around these hard issues. Straight to the point! We need to see more of this. Thank you for posting.

  3. Interesting view. Why is it blacks from lower socioeconomic class more prone to be the victims of police brutality ? Are these distinctions made, seen or accepted? Recall Professor Gates after his encounter with the cop who had handcuffed him on his own property.
