Stand Your Ground!

by Alton H. Maddox, Jr.
(“Attorney-at-War”)

A “militant” is a person who is combative and is willing to fight for his people. No militant, black attorney should enter a courthouse without a toothbrush and toothpaste. Whenever I entered the courthouse, as an “officer of the court,” I always expected to leave the courthouse in handcuffs. This is the price for “standing your ground.”

English jurisprudence is rooted in “trial by combat” and it was for “whites only.” I am a student of history, and particularly, black history. “Confederate Day” was celebrated every April in Georgia. Employees at the University of Georgia had to serve as “slaves in chains.” White men were on “horseback with whips.” The final destination was the Clarke County Courthouse in Athens, GA for a slave auction.

Whites take their history as a business and not as a hobby. They intend to maintain the status quo. Today, “standing armies” are not engaged in racial profiling which is illegal. They are engaged in “slave profiling.” This is why the New York Legislature enacted the “Malcolm X Law” in 1964 after Mayor Robert Wagner consulted with black leaders including Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. This law is alive and well today. The $ilver rites movement loves it.

A delegation, from the Freedom Party, went to the Manhattan Civil Court “hunting for bear.” Although Mayor William de Blasio of New York City has been given ample notice of the visit, I expect him to engage in conduct amounting to “obstruction of governmental administration.” It is a class action but the present victims can be found in CPW Towers, LLC v. Maddox, Index No. L&T 86146 (Civ. Ct., N.Y. Co. 2014)

A letter, dated August 8, 2016 and addressed to Mayor William de Blasio, was sent via e-mail to him. The service request no. is 1-1-1289718428. On August 9, 2016, a letter was sent by USPS Priority Mail to Mayor William de Blasio. The USPS tracking no is 9505 5148 6946 6222 0094 03. The August 8, 2016 letter was also sent to the Clerk’s Office, Manhattan Civil Court. The USPS tracking no. is 9505 5148 6946 6222 0093 80.

Too many times, when a white person objects to a black person “getting too big for his pants or her dress,” the black person will become docile and take a hard position against the demanding, black person. This should not happen here. Sufficient proof of service is available.

A member of the delegation had the responsibility of demanding all files since September 1975 relating to premises known as 392 Central Park West, Apt. 7C in the City, County and State of New York. This demand was made on the Clerk’s Office, Housing Part at 111 Centre Street in New York in September 2015. They should be produced on demand.

This delegation should not leave the Manhattan Civil Court empty-handed. The purpose of the visit, on August 10, 2016, is to review all files and complete an “index of pleadings, papers and exhibits” of each and every summary non-payment of rent proceeding and each summary holdover summary proceeding to make out, among other things, claims and defenses under Rent Stabilization Code § 2525.5.

In the United States, there is a special interest group and a pressure group. All persons are entitled, under the First Amendment, to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Every black person should be free of a judicial system “infested with racism” and “a rigged judicial system.” You have a right to express your views before you are the only complainant. Manhattan Civil Court Clerk’s Tele No. is (212) 791-6000/ Clerk, Landlord-Tenant Court is (646) 386-5750.

Even though Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law is rooted in Florida’s slave code, Trayvon Martin’s conduct, under this slave code, warranted George Zimmerman to snuff out Martin’s life. Trayvon Martin’s parents had the option of declaring the “Stand Your Ground” law unconstitutional or seeking “hush money.” They chose the latter. The lives of all blacks are, now, still at risk.

Too honest for the White Press and too black for much of today’s Black Press; bullet columnist Alton Maddox upsets the same people and status quo as he did as an uncompromising Defense Attorney.
